This past Sunday Venezuela held a plebiscito. This is a symbolic vote to get the feel of the populace regarding the direction of the country. It was no surprise that ninety five percent of the people voting wants liberty and for the government to follow the constitution. July 30 is an important date. That is when president Maduro threatens to dissolve the elected assembly and install a constituent assembly for the purpose of creating a new constitution essentially making him dictator. Imagine the president of the United States removing all elected congressmen and senators and in their place installing people who would blindly follow his will. This is what is happening. The hope of the plebiscito is that the world would see the desire of the people and pressure Maduro to respect the current assembly, the constitution and the will of the people.
