Andean Aid did not begin with a strategy to be involved in sports among poor youth. But God has nudged us in that direction. First we were called upon to sponsor a soccer team in Colombia that uses sports to give street kids a place to do something constructive and beneficial. Our involvement also allows them to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Then our Help and Hope Center in La Lechuga established a team to keep children, especially boys, motivated to attend the Center and study hard and do well in school. Now our Center at the New Jerusalem Church in El Poblado has established a team – and it’s changing the community for the better. Kids are off the streets and on the field. Praise God that Andean Aid is able to evolve and bring these new initiatives to enhance the lives of kids at risk.
To God be the glory.
